Q- What is a resume?

Resumes are what people use to get jobs, right?

Wrong!

A resume is a one or two page summary of your education, skills, accomplishments, and experience. Your resume's purpose is to get your foot in the door. A resume does its job successfully if it does not exclude you from consideration.

To prepare a successful resume, you need to know how to review, summarize, and present your experiences and achievements on one page. Unless you have considerable experience, you don't need two pages. Outline your achievements briefly and concisely.

Your resume is your ticket to an interview where you can sell yourself!  Basically resumes are more like broachers.

The purpose of a broacher is to create the interest of the buyer and to convince the buyer to take a closer look at the product.

What you are offering is your services to the employer, so it makes you the seller and the product you are offering is your services, so in order to effectively convince the employer to take more interest in your services your resume should be attractive and convincing to the employer that should create his interest in you.

Before you start building your resume, put yourself in employers boot and ask yourself some questions; like for example

A:       Why do I need to employ a Quality Manager?

B:       How he will improve my business.

C:       What he will contribute towards the growth of my business/organization.

D:       What should be his experience and qualifications?

On above guide lines prepare a list of at least 10 questions, specific to your line of experience and expertise, and then write down there answers, keeping in mind that your are the employer looking for the best candidate.

This will help you to make your resume employer friendly, and he will quickly find in it what he is looking for which will develop the employer’s interest and giving you better chances for an interview call.
